on a related note (to the previous post that is): i got to meet Marketa Irglova once (hahaha no pun intended) in houston when The Swell Season was on tour. i had been wanting to go to that concert for the longest time, but had no one to go with so i decided not to go. well, the night before the concert my friend tre told me about this song called “Blood” and so i looked it up the next morning on youtube. in the side bar it was like “you’d be interested in the swell season” and so i clicked on those videos and then i was just really really sad that i couldn’t go to the concert. well, i was walking to class all mopey and i ran into jeff and i told him all about the concert and the coincidence on youtube and all that and he was like “why don’t we go?” and i was like “you better be serious”. short version of the story: when we finished our classes, we met up, drove to houston, bought tickets at the door, and got second row spots at the concert! and then we got to meet rachel yamagata and glen hansard and marketa! moral of the story: spontaneity can lead to some really amazing experiences!
