i’ve been thinking a lot lately and i’ve come to the conclusion that with the plethora of moleskines i’ve received this past christmas/birthday season and the beautifully vibrant children’s stories/picture books on my nook color and the whole “choosing your career based on what you envision yourself doing in the future” dealio, i am more likely than not going to try and break into the world of writing/illustrating children’s books.
so.. demetri martin does this thing [a sort of nice refresher from “demetri martin has this joke..”] where he posts a sketch a day. well, my sketches may not be witty or funny like his are, but it will help me to keep on my toes with illustrating if i begin to post my sketches on this here lovely tumblr.
so here’s my first sketch of the year.. literally: i was sick new year’s eve/day so i just stayed at home and sketched this little ditty since Black Swan was quite fresh in my mind.
enough blabbing: time to clean my room!

A very Merry Unbirthday to me! I found this beautiful copy of The Decameron at a local antique store for only $4 and knew that I had to add it to my library
ed. There was another book that I really wanted: a collection of world poems edited by William Cullen Bryant, but that was quite a bit more than $4, but hopefully it will accompany my Decameron soon!! (Book obsession: never-ending)
The funniest book I’ve ever read (sorry Demetri Martin)
